NEW YORK MILLS - Joe Durante continued to swing a hot bat on Friday as Helmuth-Ingalls Post #232 routed Fort Schuyler Post #1290, 16-2 in a mercy-rule shortened game.
Durante had five RBI on a double and a grand slam to pace H-I. Jordan Doroshenko, who is also in the midst of an offensive tear, was 4-for-4 with 3 RBI. Jack Sullivan added 5 RBI of his own on two hits, and Patrick Foxton had three hits as H-I put up a big offensive showing for the second consecutive night.
Starting pitcher Cody Doyle (3-0) went the distance, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits.
H-I’s first consecutive wins of the season sees their record climb to 6-8 overall and 6-7 in the league, good enough for 4th place in the Blue Division.
An intense week of baseball awaits H-I starting on Monday, with a league split doubleheader at home - facing Whitestown Post #1113 and Love Post #406 - before a trip to Saratoga to take part in the Cooper’s Cave Tournament starting on Tuesday.

Adrean holds off H-I for season sweep
By Ryan | June 28, 2010
UTICA - Adrean Post #625 held off a seventh-inning rally by visiting Helmuth-Ingalls Post #232 and escaped with a close 3-2 victory on Sunday. Post #232 left the tying run at third base, as Cody Doyle struck out against Adrean reliever Steve Sarcone.
Post #232 starting pitcher Jordan Doroshenko (2-1) went the distance but took his first loss of the season, despite only surrendering two hits on the afternoon. Errors on back to back plays in the fourth inning were costly for Post #232, allowing Adrean to take a lead they would never relinquish.
Patrick Foxton was 3 for 4 for H-I, including an RBI infield single in the seventh that brought his team within one run and moved the tying run to third base. Rich Maxam had the only other hit for Post #232.
H-I drops to 4-7 overall and 4-6 in the league.
