CLINTON- The march towards the postseason continues for Helmuth-Ingalls as they finished off Moran Meeker O’Rourke 10-0 in a mercy rule shortened game on Monday.
Jake Ross got the complete game win, allowing one hit while striking out 8. It was the second straight complete game effort for H-I pitchers.
Lee Foxton and Ross both went 3 for 3 at the plate, and Foxton, Chris Hughes, Cory Gogola, and Tyler White chipped in two RBI each.
H-I is now 10-6 in the league and 14-10 overall. They are 2 games ahead of Fort Schuyler for 3rd place in the Blue Division and one-half game behind New Hartford for second place. A division matchup against Adrean at Notre Dame High School is on the slate for Tuesday at 6pm.
